LIRALAND GROUP at the International Conference on Engineering Safety

Specialists from LIRA SAPR presented the results of their research on the analysis of buildings under blast and impact loads at the international conference Civil Safety Engineering under UAV Combat Threats in Poland. The presentations focused on modern methods for assessing the strength of civil and protective structures, as well as specific aspects of structural analysis under blast loads a topic of increasing relevance in the context of current threats. Participation in the conference represented an important step in developing international scientific collaboration and exchanging expertise in the field of engineering safety.

From March 24, the University of Zielona Góra (Zielona Góra, Poland) hosted a major event the First International Scientific and Practical Conference Civil Safety Engineering under UAV Combat Threats.

The conference was organized by the Institute of Civil Engineering of the University of Zielona Góra and the Lubusz Regional Chamber of Civil Engineers. The event brought together leading specialists in the construction sector from Poland and Ukraine.

The company LIRA SAPR participated in the conference, sharing its expertise and confirming its role in civil safety research, particularly in the development of numerical studies and computer-based methods for analyzing progressive collapse, blast, and other extreme loads.

In the session Damage to Civil Structures as a Result of UAV Attacks, two presentations were delivered.

  • Strength Assessment of Civil and Protective Structures under Blast and Impact Loads presented by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Director of LIRA SAPR, Maria Barabash. The presentation focused on advanced methods for the analysis and assessment of the strength of civil and protective structures under blast and impact loads.
  • Peculiarities of Analysis of Buildings and Structures under Blast Loading presented by Lead Engineer of LIRA SAPR, PhD (Tech.), Oleksiy Bashynskyi. The presentation introduced a methodology for parametric modeling of blast loads in LIRA-CAD and provided examples of protective structure calculations using the implemented tools in LIRA-FEM and LIRA-CAD.

The conference facilitated the development of scientific collaboration between researchers and engineers from Ukraine and Poland. Discussions included countermeasures against UAV and missile strikes, reconstruction of damaged buildings and structures, as well as the specifics of structural analysis under impact and blast loads.
